Rein in the Chaos: Get Organized, Stay Organized

Objective: Students will be able to reflect on their unique organizational challenges, come up with their “why” for staying organized, and practice tips and tricks for breaking down assignments and tasks, organizing a calendar, and creating a plan for when they feel overwhelmed.

Amber knows that staying organized is not something we are always taught in school. Sometimes we are given so many assignments and responsibilities at one time that we feel we can’t possibly complete them all. So we might think, “maybe I should take a nap instead?” Taking care of yourself is the number one priority but can’t we find a way to take care of ourselves and accomplish all that we dream of? After completing the activities in this workshop, students will have the skills to do both.

Navigating the College Applications Process

Objective: Students will be able to make a list of colleges they are interested in, learn about college applications, write a college essay draft, fill in a brag sheet, create a resume, and overall feel more confident completing their college apps.

College Applications can feel overwhelming when you don’t know where to start. This workshop gives students the opportunity to consider which colleges interest them, learn the basics of the Common App, brainstorm a college essay for a character, write a draft of their own college essay, analyze resume examples, and create a resume and brag sheet–all in an interactive, student centered workshop!
